Cranberry Apple Plum Puree and Sauce

Cranberry

Suitable for: 8 months to 10 months old baby

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 peeled, cored, diced apple
  • 2 handfuls of fresh cranberries or blueberries
  • 2 peeled, pitted and diced plums
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Preparation and Cooking Method:

Add all fruits and water to a medium saucepan.

Bring mixture to a boil over medium high heat.

Turn to simmer and check frequently so as not to run out of water.

Add more water if needed and simmer for approx. 20 minutes or until all fruit is soft and tender and cranberries have popped

Allow to cool and then blend or puree as needed for your baby’s preferences – Add to cereals, yogurt or even drizzle sauce over meat puree or meat dices.

Benefits of Cranberry Apple Plum Puree and Sauce:

Cranberries prevent plaque formation on the tooth enamel by preventing the gram-negative bacterium, Streptococcus mutans from sticking to the tooth surface. It thus helps prevent the development of cavities.

Apple contains both insoluble and soluble fiber, which can help maintain bowel regularity.

High in dietary fiber, plums are found to help relieve constipation problems. They also contain vitamin A and Carotene-B, which are essential for good eyesight for your babies.

Plums are also plentiful in minerals like potassium and iron. Iron is required for red blood cell formation for your baby. Potassium helps control heart rate and blood pressure.
